Duration: 6 hours aprox
Just 20 kilometers from the city of Ushuaia, this hiking experience begins, combining adventure, unique landscapes, and an intimate connection with the natural environment of Tierra del Fuego. The walk starts on a trail that winds through a native forest of lenga and other southern beech trees. Along the way, hikers cross peat bogs, streams, and mountain areas, with the chance to observe hanging glaciers.
After approximately two hours of trekking, the trail reaches the iconic Laguna Esmeralda, a glacial lake known for its intense green color. After the break, the return is made along the same path.
The total distance is approximately 9 km (round trip), with a gentle elevation gain of about 250 meters. The total duration of the activity is estimated at 4 to 5 hours, depending on the group's pace.
Difficulty level: low to moderate. No prior trekking experience is required, but participants should be in good physical condition and wear appropriate footwear and clothing for mountain and wet terrain.
